Social Media 

SRAC hosts a very popular social media platform both on Facebook and Instagram. We use these platforms to advertise our school, showcase our dancers talents and enable us and our dancers to network with the wider dancing community. We ask that you please consent to the use of our child’s photograph, by us, on our social media platforms as aforesaid however please indicate your preference below.

If you do not consent, please message us separately to opt out of our social media platforms. 



 Feis Attire & Etiquette Policy


We cannot stress the importance of “top to toe” perfection in appearance and presentation at feis’. Whilst the dancing is important, the appearance and presentation completes the package and it undoubtedly factors into a Judge’s overall mark. Whether your child is in the grade system (bun, tus, mean) or prelim/championship we expect the following:-


  1. Class tracksuit – worn to and from the feis.
  2. Wig – quiff at front, wig sitting directly on top of head, good high height. A video can be provided showing the proper way to fit and style a wig. Ensure the wig is not sitting far back on the head.
  3. Tan – no less than two layers of tan for mean/prelim/championship dancers. Dark, dark, dark! A layer of tan for bun/tus grad.
  4. Earrings – earrings (clip on or studs). Earrings should be a good round size. Nothing small and insignificant.
  5. Make up – for dancers in mean/prelim/championship from under 11 upwards. No light make up. Dark make up to include bright lip stick, eye lashes. Make sure the neck is covered also.
  6. Socks- socks should never be rolled down. Small length socks would suffice rolled at full length.
  7. Sock glue – for socks to stick to the legs.
  8. Class dress – for bun/tus grad dancers.
  9. Solo costume – mean/prelim/championship dancers. Number holder.



Feis etiquette


  1. Dancers should arrive at the feis venue an hour before competition start time. Make up, wigs done and ready to warm up and stretch. Dancers should be well hydrated with water and something to give a slow release of energy e.g., banana.
  2. Dancers should always speak with the teacher before and after their dances. This is important to give crucial feedback.
  3. Dancers behaviour at feis’ is a reflection on the school so good manners both in the venue and side stage is important.
  4. Be courteous to all venue staff, feis management and other dancers in the age group with the age group.
  5. When receiving results on stage for whatever position smile and be gracious.



WAIVER OF LIABILITY AGREEMENT 


 COVID-19 has brought many knew challenges and risks to the normal running of classes. It is important that parents, dancers and the staff of Scoil Rince an Chroi appreciate the importance of safeguarding everyone involved. COVID-19 is a fluid situation and so we cannot predict or foresee the contraction of the virus to any individual. This agreement is intended to cover situations pertaining to COVID-19. You will be aware that whilst there are insurance policies in place at the school should injury and/or loss unfortunately arise we require you to carefully consider the following agreement as your return to the studio and classes will be determined on the signing of same.


Acknowledgement of  Pandemic


I AM AWARE THAT THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION AND OTHER GOVERNMENTAL AND HEALTH AUTHORITIES HAVE DECLARED COVID-19 A PANDEMIC. I AM AWARE THAT SOCIAL DISTANCING IS TO BE PRACTICED AND THAT ANY INCREASED SOCIAL CONTACT DURING THIS PANDEMIC POSES AN INCREASED RISK OF TRANMISSIONS WHICH COULD CAUSE INJURY, ILLNESS OR DEATH.

CONFIRMATION OF HEALTH AND NON-TRAVEL

I CONFIRM THAT I (OR ON BEHALF OF THE PARTICIPANT) AM IN GOOD HEALTH AND HAVE NOT TRAVELLED INTERNATIONALLY IN THE PAST 14 DAYS AND WILL INFORM ALL TEACHERS AT Scoil Rince an Chroí School of Irish Dancing ifI (OR THE PARTICIPANT) DO PLAN TO TRAVEL ABROAD.

ACKNOWLEDEGEGMNT AND VOLUNTARY ASSUMPTION OF RISK

I AM AWARE THAT OTHER PERSONS MAY ATTEND THE STUDIO AND MAY HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO THE COVID-19 VIRUS. I AM AWARE OF THE RISKS, DANGERS AND HAZARDS ASSOCIATED WITH ATTENDING DANCE CLASSES AND/OR THE STUDIO AT THIS TIME AND I (OR ON BEHALF OF THE PARTICIPANT) FREELY ACCEPT AND FULLY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, DANGERS AND HAZARDS AND THE POSSIBILITY OF PERSONAL INJURY, ILLNESS OR LOSS RESULTING THEREFROM. I AM AWARE THAT I (OR ON BEHALF OF THE PARTICIPANT) MAY REQUIRE FIRST AID, WHICH MAY REQUIRE ‘HANDS-ON’ CARE AND SOCIAL DISTANCING MAY NOT BE POSSIBLE IN THIS INSTANCE.


WAIVER OF CLAIMS


I AGREE TO WAIVE ANY AND ALL CLAIMS THAT I NOW OR IN THE FUTURE MAY HAVE AGAINST SCOIL RINCE AN CHROI ANY OF THEIR DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, ASSIGNS, AND/OR SUCCESSORS (THE“RELEASEES”) AND TO RELEASE THE RELEASEES FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY FOR ANY INJURY, ILLNESS OR LOSS MAY SUFFER AS A RESULT OF ATTENDANCE AT THE STUDIO DUE TO COVID-19. I AGREE SCOIL RINCE AN CHROI HAVE CARRIED OUT A THOROUGH RISK ASSESSMENT PRIOR TO THE RE-OPNEING OF CLASS AND HAVE PUT IN PLACE ALL MEASURES TO NEGATE ANY RISK OF THE VIRUS BEING SPREAD AND/OR CONTRACTED DURING THEIR CLASSES.

INDEMNIFICATION

I AGREE TO HOLD HARMLESS AND INDEMNIFY THE RELEASEES FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY FOR ANY INJURY, ILLNESS OR LOSS TO FROM MY (OR THE PARTICIPANT’S) PARTICIPATION IN DANCE CLASSES AND/OR ATTENDANCE AT THE STUDIO, AS THE CASE MAY BE, DUE TO COVID-19.

I CONFIRM THAT I HAVE READ AND THAT I UNDERSTAND THIS AGREEMENT AND I AM AWARE THAT  I AM WAIVING CERTAIN LEGAL RIGHTS WHICH I MAY HAVE AGAINST THE RELEASEES. I CONFIRM THAT I AM VOLUNTARILY SIGNING THIS AGREEMENT.


FOR PARTICIPANTS OF MINORITY AGE (UNDER AGE 18 AT THE TIME OF REGISTRATION)


This is to certify that I, as parent/guardian, with legal responsibility for this participant, have read and explained the provisions in this waiver/release to my child/ward including the risks of presence and participation and his/her personal responsibilities for adhering to the rules and regulations for protection against COVID-19. Furthermore, my child/ward understands and accepts these risks and responsibilities particularly in relation to COVID-19. I for myself, my spouse, and child/ward do consent and agree to his/her release provided above for all the Releasees and myself, my spouse, and child/ward do release and agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Releasees for any and all liabilities in relation to COVID-19 relating to my minor child’s/ward’s presence or participation in these activities as provided above post COVID-19.
